Who is this for?
Relationship & Family Facilitation is relevant for romantic partners, family members, close friends, and work colleagues navigating challenges in their relationships.
While I am open to working with anyone, I have a particular interest in working with…
- Romantic partners of all sorts (queer, straight, poly, monogamous) who are seeking support around challenges such as persistent conflicts, sex, life transitions, gender, commitment ambivalence, or broken trust.
- Parents and queer offspring, who are working on relationship ruptures and challenges related to gender identity and sexual orientation.
Training and Credentials
I am currently enrolled in Processwork Institute’s four-year diploma program; a rigorous course of study in Process-Oriented Psychology (also known as Processwork), a facilitation and counseling tradition for supporting relationships, families, individuals and groups.
Processwork Institute provides in-depth schooling and supervision in counseling psychology, but does not offer clinical licensure. This is why this work is described as Relationship & Family Facilitation as opposed to therapy. You might compare a Processwork diploma to the studies of massage therapists, acupuncturists, or herbalists who undergo intensive medical training, but do not receive traditional medical degrees. Before beginning sessions, all new clients will receive information about my approach to facilitating relationships and what to expect during sessions.
Preceding my study in Processwork, I completed a Bachelors in Human Development and Social Relations (Kalamazoo College, '07), as well as training programs in Conflict Mediation (SEEDS), Coaching (Leadership That Works), Transformative Justice (Bay Area Transformative Justice Collective), Generative Conflict (Wildfire Project/Training for Change), The Art of Mindful Facilitation (Lee Mun Wah/Stirfry Seminars), Experiential Education (Training for Change), Dialogue Education (Global Learning Partners), Anti-Oppression Education (Paul Kivel), and Kingian Nonviolence (East Point Peace Academy).
